ACA Marketplace
Marketplace plans with every subsidy and tax credit you qualify for checked before you enroll, not after.
Learn moreCompare Florida marketplace, private, short term, and group plans with a licensed advisor who works for you, not a carrier. My help is free, before and after you enroll.

I'm Jordon Murphy, a licensed health insurance advisor, and I help people across Florida find coverage that fits their life and their budget. I work for you, not for an insurance company. That means I compare plans across the whole market and explain them in plain English before you decide anything.
My help is free. The carrier pays me when you enroll, and your premium is the same as it would be if you enrolled on your own. You get a real advisor in your corner at no extra cost, before and after your plan starts.
Florida uses the federal marketplace at HealthCare.gov. That is where marketplace plans live, along with any subsidies you may qualify for. Open enrollment runs from November 1 to January 15 each year.
Apply by December 15 and your coverage can start January 1. Enroll after that date and your start date moves later, so earlier is always better.
Outside open enrollment, a qualifying life event can open a 60 day special enrollment period. Losing other coverage, getting married, having a baby, and moving are common examples. If something in your life just changed, do not assume you missed your chance. Ask me and I will check your window.
Most Floridians I work with land in one of these categories. Here is how each one works.
Marketplace plans cover preexisting conditions and include the essential health benefits. Many households qualify for subsidies that lower the monthly premium. I check your eligibility before you enroll, not after. See how ACA marketplace plans work.
Private plans are bought outside the marketplace. Some can start any time of year, and some are medically underwritten, which can mean lower premiums for healthy applicants. They are not right for everyone, and I will tell you honestly how they compare. See how private market plans work.
Florida allows short term plans with a total duration of up to 36 months. Short term coverage can be a smart bridge between jobs or while you wait for other coverage to start. Be clear on the trade off, though. Short term plans are not ACA plans, and they do not have to cover preexisting conditions. See how short term coverage works.
Dental, vision, accident, and critical illness plans fill the gaps a medical plan leaves behind. They are affordable add ons that pay benefits when life happens. See supplemental coverage options.
If you run a small business, a group plan can help you hire and keep good people. I help Florida employers compare group options and handle the enrollment work, so you can focus on running your business. See small business group plans.
Florida has not expanded Medicaid. Because of that, many working adults fall into what is called the coverage gap. They earn too much to qualify for Medicaid and too little to qualify for marketplace subsidies.
If that sounds like your situation, you still have legal options. Private market plans are priced outside the subsidy system, and some are built for exactly this spot. Short term and supplemental plans can also play a role. I will check every route with you, for free, and tell you straight if an option is not worth your money.
Plan availability in Florida changes by county, and no carrier sells everywhere. Where they are available in your county, I compare plans from Aetna, Cigna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, UnitedHealthcare, Humana, Ambetter, Oscar, Molina, CareSource, and Wellcare. Before you enroll, I check your doctors and prescriptions against the plan network and drug list, so there are no surprises later.
I am an independent advisor, not a government agency. These are the official sources I verify against, and they are worth bookmarking.

Nothing. My help is free to you, before and after you enroll. The carrier pays me when you sign up for a plan, and your premium is the same as it would be if you enrolled on your own. You never get a bill from me.
Open enrollment on the marketplace runs from November 1 to January 15. Apply by December 15 and your coverage can start January 1. Outside that window, a qualifying life event can open a 60 day special enrollment period, and some private and short term plans can start at other times of the year.
You may still have options. A recent life change, like losing other coverage, getting married, having a baby, or moving, can open a 60 day window to enroll. Private market and short term plans can often start outside open enrollment too. Call me and I will check what is open to you right now.
Yes, and I do it before you enroll. Send me your doctors, hospitals, and prescriptions, and I will check them against each plan network and drug list. A plan only works if the care you already rely on is covered.
